Content
This is a split course so delegates can plan a feature, reconvening on the second day with the completed article to have it critically assessed.
- Different narrative forms and the overriding importance of structure, both in writing features and analyzing where they have gone wrong
- The use of characters and the power of language of emotion or effect
- Restricted open language; an outline of advanced interviewing and investigation methods
- The need for stories to have a beginning, middle and end- preferably in that order – with emphasis on intros
- The final day includes a detailed analysis of delegates' writing styles
