We are thrilled to announce that Glynis Horning, a freelane journalist from Durban and Metzi van der Merwe of SABC Radio News are amonst the ten recipients of the 2009/2010 Rosalyn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism.
This will be the last South African intake sponsored by the Carter Center and we are busy looking for South African sponsors to take over this venture and let us carry on reaching people here through these Fellowships.
As a South African Board Member I will be travelling to Atlanta, with Eddie Botha (2008/9 Fellows) as well as this year's Fellows, where Eddie and Subashni Naidoo's (who won't be attending due to her pregnancy) work will be showcased and the new Fellow’s work will be discussed and advised on. As always I’m looking forward to visiting the Carter Center and working alongside the wonderful Rosalyn Carter and her incredible Board of Advisors. It’s also always a great honour and pleasure to meet with President Carter also. The work that he and Mrs Carter do from the Carter Center is truly amazing.
Please go and look at the website www.cartercenter.com and read about their work.
